My Own Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten
Elk River, MN

My Own Montessori opened it's doors in October 2003.  Owner/Teacher, Lynn  Arnsdorf  was a stay-at-home Montessori Mom for several years before going back to  teaching after her third child was born.  Lynn received her Montessori training (a 2  year commitment) after seeing the successes of her own children.  The peaceful and  nurturing environment is ripe for knowledge gathering.  Her own children were cared  for, had a zest for learning and had a tremendous sense of confidence entering first grade.

After working several years at Montessori School of St. Cloud and Heritage Montessori in Big Lake,  Lynn decided to start her own school.  She wanted to create a small school environment that was geared towards parents who wanted to find quality preschool but did not want a huge mega-school environment.   The classroom size at M.O.M. will remain small...22-23 students, but usually 20 or less.  She also wanted to offer part-time schedules for parents who wanted to gradually start their children in school.  Most Montessori schools are 5 days a My Own Montessori, there is a 2day/wk and 3day/wk option!  Lynn also wanted to offer a secular and diverse environment that welcomed all cultures, beliefs and faiths....this is what makes the world go round!
